Today, German RepRap announces a brand new 3D printer; one that is targeted towards commercial user. The latest printer from the company is quite large, featuring an incredible 1000 x 800 x 600 mm build space. This comes as a bit of a surprise to some, as the company already has the X400 3D printer which includes a 400 x 400 x 350mm build envelope.
This new printer uses FDM/FFF technology, and while targeted toward commercial use, also would make for a great addition to anyone’s garage. It will be unveiled at the Euromold fair in Frankfurt/M, Germany on November 25, 2014, and it should make quite the impression on visitors.
“Our goal is to offer a complete range of products for commercial customers,” said Florian Bautz, managing director of German RepRap.
The company wants to make sure that customers don’t think that this is merely a scaled up version of their X400 model because it is definitely not. This new printer has been built from the ground up, which will be obvious when comparing how the two machines look and operate. While the complete specifications have not yet been released, we have been told that it will have a layer height of up to 0.5mm, as well as feature multi-extruder technology, and “intelligent filament management”. This new 3D printer will also include an intuitive user interface for those who want to quickly and easily get their print jobs started.
We are told that the name for the new printer has not yet been decided on, and the price will be announced at Euromold in November.
