Attempting to outdo themselves again, now the Dubai-headquartered company is taking on a new challenge in 3D print with their model of the Castlewood Group’s Dream Hotel and Spa in Phuket. As the team states that they are really pushing boundaries this time, we can only imagine it must be good. Always chasing their dreams as well, they found the name ‘Dream ‘ to be appropriate. And while it might be appropriate for the Generation 3D team, certainly it’s also well-suited for the guests visiting the beautiful and well-appointed ‘extremely high end 5 star resort.’
“We knew we were in for a challenge,” said the team. “Initially, many advised not to 3D print this project, however our vision and ‘Dream’ had always been to produce models of this scale and so, we persevered.”
In 3D printing an architectural model, Generation 3D had to give a comprehensive view of the expansive resort and its scale. Also, there were numerous tiny details to attend to with furnishings and landscaping features.
“What is very clear is that 3D printing is not a ‘one stop shop’ for all architectural needs as is often advertised,” states Generation 3D. “It is not a magic box that will present fantastic models at the click of a button. 3D Printing is simply a tool that in the correct hands, can be very powerful.”
“At Generation 3D we naturally believe in the powers of 3D Printing and its ability to change the world, however we understand that at the heart of this, is the vision and design intent. 3D Printing is changing the process in which things are created, however the true value is derived from the people and ideas that take place behind the scenes and how these are utilized to extract the machine’s full potential.”
Generation 3D welcomes all thoughts on how they can help your business use 3D printing as well, even if you only consider your latest project idea to be an evolving concept in the initial stages or maybe still just a dream. With the goal of serving the entire Middle East, they currently specialize in helping their clients with 3D printing, model making, CAD/CGI and product design needs.
