Calling All SuperStar Designers! Create Your Own 3D Printed World for Poetry Contest 360 & Win

poetry360Ira3D, while known for producing high-quality hardware, software, and materials, is one of those rare companies who are on a mission to see that everyone is able to enjoy the technology of 3D printing through affordability, accessibility, and an ongoing source of inspiration and information. Now, they are letting others take a turn in pushing the technological boundaries for a change with the creation of Poetry Contest 360. In its first year, this is a great opportunity for 3D printing enthusiasts to show their stuff—and be well-rewarded—for original contributions that result in high-quality 3D prints.

The true, specific goals of this challenge, which should appeal to most artists and designers around the world—are to break the rules. And radically so. In keeping with the ongoing revolution that 3D printing is offering, the Ira3D team wants to support makers—and those who enter Poetry Contest 360—in surpassing limits in manufacturing, distribution, digitalization and streaming of objects. Those who enter are asked to define a product or collection of objects and offer expansive innovation through reinterpreting original themes. Designers have four different categories to choose from:

The Ira3D team wants you to be as inspired as they are when it comes to 3D design and printing, asking you to create your own world and then present it in this challenge. Three winners will be chosen in each category as a result of fulfilling the contest criteria. If you are interested in entering, just choose a category and send your design to Poetry 360. If you win first prize in any category, you’ll find the goodies well worth it, receiving a Poetry Infinity 3D printer, 500 €, and 15% of royalties on the winning project. Second prize winners will receive €1000 and 10% of royalties on the winning project. Third prize winners will receive 500 € and 7% of royalties on the winning project.

Additional prizes will be awarded as well, to be announced at Poetry 360. All entries must be received by June 10th. See the pre-registration page for more information.

The ultimate purpose here, according to Ira3D, is for designers to have fun while pinpointing new horizons for production, distribution and streaming of digital objects through the use of 3D printing. Ira3D wants to see others gain and show off their passion for 3D printing in this contest through a display of creativity, innovation, skill—all with new applications that have the potential to offer value to the world.

Ira3D is a young Italian company, founded in 2014, committed to providing sophisticated and innovative tools for their users, allowing them to change the way they work and create. If you are a maker or business owner seeking new inspiration or product designs, Ira3D can certainly give you ideas—and provide you with all the hardware, software, and finishing techniques you will need to bring them to fruition. And companies like Ira3D intend to make sure that label continues to be one that’s highly desired.

The Poetry Infinity 3D printer is known as one of the best printers in the world for accuracy, offering resolution of 15 microns (0.015 millimeters) at 400 mm per second, extruder resistance up to 350°C, and interchangeable nozzles with high quality and precision supplied at 0.25 mm for high resolutions and 0.8 mm for very high speeds that allow predictably high resolution and quality every time.
