XYZprinting Opens New Office and Expands into Thailand

This has been a pretty big year for XYZprinting. Not only have they have expanded their line of affordable 3D printers with several new models, they also took home a record 26% of the world 3D printer sales market share in 2014. Their new printers, including a new WiFi-enabled version of their popular dDa Vinci Junior, a food 3D printer and the high quality da Vinci 1.0A Professional, is helping XYZprinting and their da Vinci series remain on target to become the top selling line of desktop 3D printers again in 2015. While many may credit the low cost of their printers, XYZprinting has also spent a considerable amount of time and money on improving their customer service, assembly quality control, software compatibility and mass market availability.

After spending a considerable amount of effort on expanding into the North American and European 3D printing markets, XYZprinting is planning on expanding even further by looking to their own backyard. This week, CEO of New Kinpo Group and Chairman of XYZprinting Inc. Simon Shen announced that they are officially launching their new XYZprinting Thailand facility and will be aggressively expanding into the Thai market. This will be the first time that the XYZ brand will be available to Thai consumers, including the da Vinci line of 3D printers, the Nobel SLA line of 3D printers, their food 3D printer and the Intel RealSense-powered handheld 3D scanner.

Much of XYZprinting’s meteoric rise to success can be traced back to their parent company the New Kinpo Group, which is one of the world’s leading electronic manufacturing corporations. The New Kinpo Group’s association with their parent company the Kinpo Group gives their electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and original design manufacturing (ODM) a global reach that has allowed them to quickly expand the XYZprinting brand into multiple markets. Thailand is an obvious choice to start their expansion into the Southeast Asian markets. The New Kinpo Group already has an established history of working within Thailand’s consumer electronics market through a pre-existing partnership with Cal-Comp Electronics who will be lending XYZprinting their strong R&D and manufacturing capabilities.

The new Thai office opening is part of XYZprinting’s strategic vision of entering the South East Asian 3D printing market and specifically the robust market in Thailand itself. Along with their new XYZprinting Thailand office, the company will be donating several 3D printers to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in an effort to reach out to Asian universities and off 3D printer educational support. Considering how much of the world’s consumer electronics and products are designed and manufactured throughout Asia, 3D education is considered vital to the future of the region.
