The Massivit team, headquartered in Israel, makes quite a statement with their new 3D printer–and their name says it all, especially for this piece of machinery which boasts:
- Speed up to 1,000 mm / 39 inch per sec in x- & y-axis
- Productivity up to 35cm / 1 ft of object per hour
- Printing dimensions of 1.5 x 1.2 x 1.8 m / 4 x 5 x 6 ft
- Dual process for easy printing of 2 different objects in parallel
- Low material consumption due to ‘support-less’ printing
“In developing Massivit 1800 we had to reinvent 3D printing, we had to invent a whole new technology–the GDP–Gel Dispensing Printing. The result is a 3D printer with remarkable performance, stunning design, and some of the most advanced 3D printing algorithms in the market enabling very fast and very economical printing, saving on printing material and printing time of superfluous support structures,” said Gershon Miller, one of the founders of Massivit, who is also known to many as the founder of Objet (now Stratasys).
Within an industry, fairly new and what many still call ‘fledgling,’ there is plenty of competition. Massivit, however, just bypassed all of that and went straight for reinvention with a tool for the serious 3D printing operator. The Massivit 1800 stands out not only due to the massive prints you can pump out, but also in its gel dispensing printing technology. The unique material, according to the Massivit team, is sensitive to a “specific UV wave and printing and curing engine” which allows it to be dispensed and then follow through with production of 3D models. This printing and curing engine is crucial in that it allows the gel to solidify instantly and facilitates high-speed printing.
Currently, the first installation of the Massivit is taking place in Israel at ES Digital, a printing and communication services provider.
“We are delighted and excited to own the Massivit 1800. We have great plans for this printer, and many of our customers are already awaiting this solution that will enable them to create unique, stunning promotional campaign in all kind of formats – from unique point of purchase displays all the way to amazing launch events,” said Eyal Shemesh E.S. Digital CEO. “With the Massivit 1800 we can now offer our customers more ways to grab attention, call for engagement and make their marketing campaigns attractive & entertaining – we can add another dimension to marketing.”
While this spectacular and unique 3D printer will allow for the production of enormous high quality products, it also produces them at such speed that companies can look forward to shaving off many hours in production time, meaning a very attractive bottom line when looking at numbers.
