Autodesk and HoneyPoint3D Team to Offer 3D Modeling and Printing Classes

Ever since announcing the Spark 3D printing platform, we have all known that Autodesk has major 3D printing ambitions. Being that they are the leaders within the world of CAD software, it’s just a natural extension to their already rapidly expanding business.  Like with all new technology, before entering the mainstream there has to be a clear understanding of it by the general public. Knowing this, Autodesk has teamed with HoneyPoint3D to try and teach the public about the incredible utility of 3D printing and 3D modelling.  To do this, they have decided to host a 3D modeling class and 3D printing demonstration at the Autodesk headquarters from July 18th to the 28th.  To sweeten the pot, they will also be offering a 61% discount via Groupon.com.

If you find yourself in the San Francisco area, between those dates mentioned above, and wish to participate in the event, the Groupon price is just $39. Each session, co-hosted by HoneyPoint3D will run a total of 3 hours in length, from 3-6 p.m., and include all of the following:

A Tour of the Autodesk Gallery
Walk through and explore all 20 exhibits. Some of the exhibits within the gallery, which has garnered world recognition and has won several awards, include works created by companies such as Sony Pictures, Mercedes-Benz, Nike and Lego.

3D Printing Demonstration and Lectures:
Autodesk experts will demonstrate how to create 3D models via smartphones, as well as how to manipulate them with the company’s Fusion 360 software. Then those attending will be able to watch an object fabricate before their eyes on a 3D printer.

Refreshments:
Food and drinks will be provided.

The rate of $39 is for one 3 hour session, which must be reserved in advance of the date you intend on attending. Each event will have a maximum of 112 attendees, and the Groupon offer will last only until midnight PST tonight. The event will take place at the Autodesk Gallery, located on the second floor of the Landmark Building in San Francisco.
