RageTekk founders Gunit Singh and Sagar Deswal say their FDM-based machine uses components precisely designed for durability and efficiency, an acrylic plate, a 304 stainless steel optical axis, a metal printing head, a Pyrex glass bottom plate and an LCD controller.
The Dimension features a build volume of 180mm cylindrical diameter x 300 mm height and is capable of printing in resolutions down to an adjustable 0.03 mm to 0.4 mm.
While the standard Dimension uses PLA filament, it can be equipped to handle ABS materials with the addition of an optional heated bed.
The Dimension supports SD card which allows for offline printing, a standard 0.4 mm extruder and prints at between 340-530 degrees Fahrenheit. It supports the most common 3D printer formats, from .stl to G-Code.
Singh and Deswal’s Dimension kit is bundled with open source firmware and open source, easy-to-use software. It also comes with a choice of filaments, a detailed step-by-step instruction manual–and free international shipping to the USA, Australia, Europe, Canada and New Zealand (but an additional $25 will be required for other destinations).
A Distributor Kit–which includes 10 Dimension printers in DIY kit form, ten spools of filament, and supporting materials such as software and and manuals–will cost $2,899. The Distributor Kit is also available assembled for $3,799.
The heated bed option to allow for the use of ABS filament is available for an additional $80 pledge through the Indiegogo campaign.
In its first day, the Indiegogo campaign raised 30% of the $100,000 goal. The campaign runs through September 25th.
