This Week’s Top 3D Printable 3DShare Models: Two Female Figures, Rubber Band Shooter & More

This week 3D Share brings us many new models, some designed by regulars like kirit shingala, Lawrence Butts, and FORMBYTE. We have a funky pendant, a rubber band volley repeater, a vase with an abstract design, and a “sunbath girl” figure that is printed in two parts providing the appearance of water. Finally, we have my favorite of the week: the “Never call me babe” figurine. This figurine is a clothed woman holding a bat (or other large blunt instrument) behind her back. A refreshing change!
This week, “kirit shingala” brings us another 3D Share design. This one is a funky looking pendant that moves in a continuous flow but looks like two circles in one. It has a Mobius Strip, optical illusion-style effect, but it also looks like a really funky car tire. Either way, a good conversation piece to wear as a necklace, so you can explain to people what 3D printing is.
It is refreshing to see a 3D printed figure of a woman on 3D Share that’s not nude or partially nude. I mean, women have more depth than as mere objects — right? This figurine by “fantasygraph” has a woman holding a large blunt instrument –a bat? — behind her back with the caption “Never call me babe.” But no worries for those who want their weekly dose of partial nudity in a female figure: it’s included in this review as well. In the meantime, we are reminded to always fear what a woman might have behind her back, or up her sleeve, weapon-wise.
This is an rather elaborate invention that takes us to a much more sophisticated level than simply shooting rubber bands at someone! It’s a toy gun that “works as a semi automatic repeater,” according to “Timster” the designer. The side you reload is based on which trigger you use. When it reaches the 12th shot, it transfers to the next gear to function as a tumbler. Then it needs to be reloaded. Timster also leaves us with detailed tech specifications, a parts list, and assembly instructions here for anyone interested in stepping up their rubber band shooting game.
For our weekly dose of partial female nudity, we have FORMBYTE’s “Sunbath Girl” who is designed in two separate parts that when placed together provide the appearance that she is in water. But that’s not water, it is whatever smooth surface you choose to display her on. It’s an interesting idea for any figure that is depicted in water, not just the partially nude women, of course. But somehow, we just can’t seem to get away from that theme!
This Lawrence Butts original is a miniature vase that has recieved a whopping 36,160 views on 3D Share. It is printed in two separate files: the first file is the vase part, and the second (which can be downloaded from Butts’ profile page for free) is the base. This is printed with a raft and external support, and Butts warns us to be careful because the top part of the base’s screw can break off easily. Other than that, happy printing!
