BigRep Unveils the New BigRep ONE — 4 Times the Speed & Much More

There are few companies which impress us as much as Berlin’s BigRep. They take FDM/FFF 3D printing to the next level via their large-format machines capable of fabricating items as large as furniture pieces in one go around. While their latest flagship product, the BigRep One.2 is a fully capable device that’s sure to blow any 3D printing enthusiast away, the company has just upgraded the model once again.

Called the New BigRep ONE, or the BigRep ONE, Version 3, this latest machine has several key upgrades over the BigRep ONE.2 and will be launching into the market come October of this year.

“At BigRep we are focusing on printing large objects reliably and fast,” explained René Gurka, CEO of BigRep. “The great feedback from partners and customers led to a lot of research in this field. Our new modular extruder with multiple nozzle sizes can now create objects up to 4 times faster than the old ONE.2 model. Bigger prints require much more filaments hence the new ONE can hold spools up to 10 Kg.”

If size was not enough to encourage you to consider a purchase of one of these goliath machines, than perhaps the speed improvements will finally do the trick. Not only is the New BigRep One much faster than its predecessor but there is a laundry list of other major upgrades to the machine as well. First let’s start with some of its key specifications:

Not only is the new modular print head able to fabricate items up to four times faster than the last version of the ONE, but it is equipped with filament detection capabilities which will pause a print if it detects that the printer is about to run out of material. Additionally the new extruder is able to print support materials as well as multiple colors within a single project and the New ONE’s spool holder can house a staggering 10kg of filament for those extra large projects you may be considering.

BigRep did’t end the upgrades there though. They have also equipped their latest machine with an all new heated build platform which features auto-leveling capabilities, and as for the user interface, the New machine is a breeze to use thanks to a brand new touch-panel. Utilizing a new graphic user interface, the printer is incredibly user friendly and easy for almost anyone to control.

As with past models, this latest version of the ONE features a study full-aluminum frame and the extra-large build envelope that the company has become known for.  While pricing details have yet to be announced, we would guess that it will fall in-line with the last version of the machine, the ONE.2 which retailed for $39,000.
