Without a doubt, 3D Hubs will continue to grow, thanks to their excellent upper management, great community team and the hubs themselves, who frequently host their own events. Because we love what we see from 3D Hubs on a daily basis as they continue their ridiculous growth, 3DPrint.com has now become a media partner for all of 3D Hubs’ worldwide events, and starting today we will be publishing weekly updates foreshadowing some of the upcoming events.

July 22: Hack the House with 3D Printing | Newport RI
There is no time better to visit Newport, Rhode Island than in the summer. With an average high of 82 degrees fahrenheit during the day, tourists can spend days outside on bicycles or visiting various museums. However, if you have a love for 3D printing, then tomorrow, July 22nd there is an event that you must attend. The “Hack the House with 3D Printing” event is an “open-hack night” which invites guests to bring project ideas, get insight from experts within the field, or just print out a part that they need for a home improvement job. The event will feature a unique bot farm, which links multiple 3D printers together, as well as a modded Ultimaker 2 3D printer, two MakerBots, a Printrbot Simple, and a pair of custom built RepRaps. It will run from 5:30PM – 7:00PM at the Newport Public Library and is free to attend.
July 22: Workshop sur Fusion 360 d’Autodesk | Paris
Paris — It’s one of my favorite places in the world to visit. Whether it is spending an entire day admiring art in the Louvre, putting a lock on the famous “Love Lock Bridge” by Notre Dame Cathedral, or taking the elevator up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, there is always something to do in this French city. This now includes joining others for a night of 3D printing. Tomorrow, July 22 from 7:00PM to 10:30PM at the FabClub, a special workshop will be held focused on Autodesk Fusion 360. The goal? “To familiarize yourself with the new software,” and learn how you can use it to create 3D printable objects. The 3.5 hour workshop will cost a modest €15.00, including a drink and a snack. The workshop will be broken down into three parts:
- The Basics
- Work on designing a lampshade
- Sending your design to a 3D printer
July 23: 3D Hubs & Sketchfab 3D Scanner Party | London
I’ve never been to London before, but next month, my wife, son and I will be visiting the city for the first time. We are excited to see what is in store for us, but unfortunately we will be a few weeks too late to attend the 3D Hubs & Sketchfab 3D Scanner Party. The event, which takes place this Thursday between 7:00PM and 10:00PM will cost just £5.00 to attend, and it will take place at the makersCAFE on 1 Kingsland Road. The £5.00 fee includes drinks, snacks and free 3D scans by the available scanners on hand. During the event you will have the option of scanning various object, or even turning yourself into a 3D printable mini-me. All of the files will be published on Sketchfab for later viewing, downloading, or 3D printing.
July 25: 3D Druck Treffen | Freiburg
Situated in the heart of the major Brandon wine-growing region in Germany, Freiburg is a destination that many tourists flock to for tasting new wines straight from the vineyard. Perhaps not known for its 3D printing, this weekend that may be about to change. That’s because the 3D Druck Treffen event (roughly translated to “3D Printing Meeting”), will be taking place on Saturday, July 25 between 6:30PM and 10:00PM. If you are in the area and wish to attend, be sure to signup soon, as there are just 7 spots remaining. This event will be great for those 3D designers who are interested in finally 3D printing their models.
