On June 23, Batman fans everywhere rejoiced as the latest video game in the series was released. Batman: Arkham Knight, a game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment, was much anticipated and once released, it flew off of the shelves. The game, which is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, has been quite the hit among fans. One such fan is a man who we have covered several times in the past, named Stefanos Anagnostopoulos.
Anagnostopoulos has a talent for designing and 3D printing unique products and cosplay masks for 3D printing repository MyMiniFactory. In his latest project, he decided to create two character masks from Batman: Arkham Knight, and in doing so chose the Scarecrow and Batman’s arch nemesis the Arkham Knight.
“I always wanted to make something from the game,” Anagnostopoulos tells 3DPrint.com. “Scarecrow reminded me of Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid back on PS1 and I loved that concept. As I was sculpting it, I wondered if I could print the texture of the mask using 3D printing, so I would not have to paint it on. It worked perfectly!”
As for the Arkham Knight mask, Anagnostopoulos modeled it mostly in 3D Studio Max with a few details added using Zbrush. It too is printed in separate parts and was assembled in a similar manner, before he primed and painted it with the help of a friend named Cemal Cetinkaya.
What do you think about Anagnostopoulos’ latest creations? Do you think you could design and 3D print masks with this much detail yourself? Discuss in the Batman Arkham Knight Masks forum thread on 3DPB.com.
