Vector PLA 3D, First Indian Manufactured 3D Printer, Launched by J Group Robotics

Asia has been a hotbed for 3D printers and the technology around 3D printing in general. China has been on a torrid pace as of late, breaking barriers, and expanding their 3D printing/additive manufacturing footprint significantly over the last year or so. South Korea as well, has been heating up within the industry. Through government funded programs, and new initiatives, they are seeking massive growth within the space. The second most popular nation within the continent of Asia, India, however, has been very quiet on all 3D printing fronts. This may be about to change though.

Today, Mumbai based J Group Robotics™, announced that they have launched the very first Indian manufactured 3D printer, the Vector PLA 3D. The Vector PLA 3D will come in seven different colors, and cost Rs 149,000 ($2276).

• Build Envelope: 190mm x 190mm x 210mm
• Print Material: PLA, ABS+, wood, stone, glow in the dark material
• Operating System Compatibility: Windows, Macintosh & Linux
• Print Resolution: 100 microns
• Layer Resolution: 20 microns (minimum error of 0.020000mm)
• Software: Printware
• File Types Supported: STL / .OBJ / .DAE / .AMF
• Other: SD card slot

The company states that the Vector PLA 3D is targeted towards all verticals of the manufacturing industry, but is also affordable enough for hobbyists and those wishing to have a 3D printer at home. With an up and coming middle class in India, now may be just the right time to introduce this machine into the country.

“3D printing is a revolutionary technology and with the Vector PLA 3D, we are aiming to help manufacturing industries reduce the cost of prototyping,” stated Vishal Jariwala, founder and chairman J Group Robotics. “We want to expand our reach beyond Mumbai. We already have 3D printing workshops at schools and colleges where we help students with projects involving 3D printed robots,”
