3D printing pens are here to stay, and the technologies behind them are only improving with time. Because of this, one Owatonna, MN company called Fused 3D, has entered the market, not from a hardware angle but from the materials side of things.
This weekend Fused 3D, a company known for their 3D printer materials and accessories, announced the launch of their new 3D printer pen filament line.
“Our 3d Pen Filament is manufactured with very tight tolerances so it will always have the perfect width to fit inside your 3D Printer Pen,” stated the company. “So Go crazy with Fused3Ds Plastic Filament for 3D Printer Pens, because you get twice the sticks you can go longer without having to restock. That means More Fun for the Whole Family.”
The filament is being sold in packages of fifty 10-inch strands for only $14.99 on Amazon.com, and are available in multiple colors, including black, blue, green, red and yellow. Consisting of ABS thermoplastic and extruded with a 3mm diameter, the company wants to
Although the company is primarily marketing these new filament strands to 3Doodler owners, the strands are compatible with most competing 3D printing pens as well, placing Fused 3D right in the middle of this market. Just like we saw in the desktop 3D printer market, what started out as one or two main filament suppliers has mushroomed into dozens. Fused 3D may be one of the first of what may be numerous companies entering this rather new space.
It will be very interesting, as reviews begin coming in on Amazon, just how consumers react to this affordable new filament. Considering that other companies sell these materials for 2-3 times the $14.99 price that Fused 3D is charging, any decent reviews by users should equate to quite a lot of business for the company.
