Optomec Aerosol Jet printing technology provides the high-resolution 3D printing capabilities required to manufacture small-scale, lighter-weight, high-performance devices and electronics. These micro-devices are utilized in industries as diverse as aerospace, defense, consumer electronics and of course the ever present Internet of Things (IoT). Their patented Aerosol Jet technology uses aerodynamic focusing to precisely print and fabricate working electronic circuitry and functional micro-components.
The Aerosol Jet technology can 3D print electronics in dimensions ranging from 10 microns to as large as several millimeters in a single pass. The process is also very scalable, making high-volume production applications and small-scale mass production possible.
Here is a brief video explaining the basics of the process:
“We are very happy to partner with Semitronics to expand sales of Aerosol Jet systems in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Semitronics team has an excellent track record of delivering complete manufacturing solutions to the region’s electronics industry, including printing systems, consumables, and post-processing equipment. They’re already off to a great start with sales of two Aerosol Jet systems to a leading Defense and R&D organization during 2015,” said Optomec Vice President of World Wide Sales Michael Kardos.
“We are delighted to add Optomec Aerosol Jet printers to our portfolio of solutions. Aerosol Jet printers provide new and exciting capabilities for our customers which will enable them to cost-effectively manufacture smaller and lighter-weight electronic devices,” said Managing Director of Semitronics Jeremy Davis of the exclusive distribution deal.
Optomec is one of the fastest growing privately-held suppliers of state-of-the-art production and manufacturing grade 3D printing technology and systems. In addition to their Aerosol Jet systems, Optomec also manufactures their patented LENS 3D Printers for the fabrication of metal components. The LENS system can print fully dense 3D structures using a high-powered laser to deposit and fuse metal powder. LENS technology can be used to print entire structures from scratch, or be used to repair or modify existing metal components.
