Founded in 2014 with the goal of connecting ‘Makers’ and ‘Printers’ online, the new company PrintParts wants to help the 3D printing community with the business side of things. Company founder, Robert Haleluk, explains why PrintParts is an original concept:
“It’s not just another 3D Hubs clone or 3D printing marketplace. I’ve spent the last year developing this site so it can be the best place for 3D Printers and Makers to conduct business online. We’ve built a lot of great tools and resources for the industry, so we’re very excited to start getting the word out and open this up to the world.”
One of the “tools and resources” Haleluk refers to is a new online platform that is not tedious and connects people more quickly with a high success rate. Success is not new to Haleluk, who grew up around family owned businesses and the manufacturing industry. He’s been keeping his eye on 3D printing for quite some time and, as a Maker and Printer himself, has identified the need to better connect these groups. Haleluk summarizes this vision:
“Whether you’re a 3D printer or a molding plant you’re faced with the same problem, it’s incredibly time consuming to develop relationships with new customers. I set out to build PrintParts as a way to simplify the process and provide a better place for Makers and Printers to connect and do business online. As both a maker and a printer myself, I tried to build a platform that our users would love to use. I think we’ve achieved that and I am very excited to share it with everyone.”
Haleluk shows us his business smarts from the beginning with a 3D printer giveaway contest. He knows that people get excited about contests and free stuff.
