Now MyMiniFactory has joined forces with Linus Tech Tips and SilverStone to sponsor a contest for designers to build the ultimate, wall-mounted headphone holder.
While SilverStone is already an expert in building products in aluminum, and they already offer a well-constructed headphone stand of their own, MyMiniFactory says participating in this design competition will give 3D printing enthusiasts an alternative design option to print out their own, wall-mounted headphone mount.
If you think you have the skills to take on the challenge, your designs will need to be submitted to MyMiniFactory by the contest deadline, June 8, and the MyMiniFactory community will then vote on the top 10 designs over the course of two weeks.
Then 3D printed versions of the top entries will be sent to Linus, who will create a video for submission to SilverStone. SilverStone will then produce a gold, anodized prototype which will be manufactured and sent back to Linus for the announcement of the winning entry.
MMF says that while all submissions are welcome, it’s critical that to win, the design will need to feature “a clean industrial design” which can ultimately be manufactured in aluminum. All designs must print within an 18 x 18 x 18 cm build volume.

As always, all entries will be test printed by the MyMiniFactory team on FDM 3D printers.
The first prize is a one-of-a-kind, gold-color anodized, wall-mounted headphone holder of the winner’s design. In addition, the winner will receive one each of the “normal” silver and black colored versions of the design. The winner will also get “shout-outs” in both the top 10 finalists video and the grand prize announcement video.
Nine runners up will get either a silver or black anodized aluminum version of the winning headphone stand design and a “shout-out” on the Linus Tech Tips video.
So if you don’t win? Fear not: all entrants will receive a 3D printed version of their designs courtesy of MyMiniFactory.
