Shapeways is the industry leader when it comes to purchasing 3D printed goods. They are known for their vast marketplace of items that you probably never knew even existed. That’s because they are created by designers with all different levels of experience, and most of these items can only be found exclusively on Shapeways. If you are looking for that iPhone case that no one else you know possesses, or that perfectly custom necklace that will make tha ‘special someone’ in your life feel ‘special’, Shapeways is certainly the place to go.

Today, they have announced that they are reducing lead times on shipments of metal merchandise, purchased from their marketplace. Not only are lead times in the US being cut, but global lead times are now shorter as well. Check the chart below:

Some of the more significant lead time reductions are seen with raw silver, and polished silver which both see a 30% reduction in US lead times and a 33% reduction in global lead times. Shapeways is always trying to improve upon their service, and reducing lead times is one way they have been doing so. We will likely see further reductions in lead times for other materials in the future. Shapeways is always open to listening to your opinions, so be sure to let them know which other materials you would like to see have their lead times reduced.  It’s nice to see that they have responded to feedback provided by customers.
