Staples Canada Offering 3D Printer Giveaway and Copy & 3D Printing Pilot Program

Staples Canada is on board with making 3D printing more accessible by placing the latest 3D printing products and services in 10 stores across British Columbia and Alberta, and on the web at Staples.ca.Image 109

The expanded 3D printing lineup will now include the Afinia H-Series H480 3D Printer and a Copy & Print 3D printing service which the company is testing in their Guelph, ON, location.

And to showcase 3D printing technology, Staples Canada plans to give away one Afinia 3D printer via their network of social media pages.

Beginning on March 27 and running through March 30, the company will post step-by-step images of a 3D printed item as it’s printed, and if customers can guess what’s being printed they’ll be entered for a chance to win. The images will be posted via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, using the hashtag #3dReveal, and the winner will be chosen and notified on March 31.

“Staples is known for carrying the latest technology, and 3D printers are the most recent example of our commitment to offering every product your business needs to succeed,” says Pete Gibel, senior vice president of merchandising at Staples Canada. “For companies creating new products, 3D printing makes it easier to design and test new concepts and decrease the time to market.”

Staples already stocks 3D printing accessories including ABS filaments, replacement nozzles, perf boards, and printing surface sheets. The company also carries an assortment of 3D printing brands online, and they say that’s due to a growth in the demand for 3D printing technology in general.

Staples Canada is also running a pilot project for a 3D printing Copy & Print service in Guelph, ON where customers and small businesses can bring in 3D print-ready files to create their personalized products.

“This pilot will help customers learn about the enormous opportunities of 3D printing,” says Gogi Grewal, senior vice president of business services at Staples Canada. “This will help Staples learn how we can help customers make more happen for their business through this service.”

Staples and Staples Canada offer retail, online, and delivery capabilities. Staples is headquartered outside of Boston in the United States and has offices in Toronto, Canada. The company operates outlets throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
