makerbot and wynitMakerBot, the pioneering desktop 3D printer manufacturer, says they’re expanding the company’s distribution network through a deal with WYNIT which will expand upon their placement of 3D printers and scanning products in the U.S. and Canada.

WYNIT, based in North Syracuse, NY, serves a wide range of customers ranging from large national retailers to independent resellers from strategically located distribution facilities in Memphis, TN and Reno, NV. The company is a leading distributor of prosumer, professional and consumer 3D printer technology, and they have a dedicated 3D printing team to assist resellers.

“WYNIT is a strategic and integral partner for MakerBot. WYNIT stands out because it has an entire team dedicated to supporting 3D printing. This team is designed to help resellers add MakerBot 3D printers and scanners to their product portfolio, and they will offer comprehensive support, advice and training to get resellers up and running quickly,” says Mark Schulze, general manager of the Americas and Emerging Markets for MakerBot. “We’re excited to work with the team at WYNIT and this new agreement is a move we believe will help us expand our sales channels across North America and reach our audience of educators, engineers and designers.”

Rick Slagle, vice president of Purchasing, Marketing and Business Development for WYNIT Distribution, says he sees the partnership with MakerBot as a great opportunity to expand his firm’s expertise and service capabilities in the 3D printing technology sphere. He adds that the deal should help reach specialized vertical market customers in the engineering, design and educational industries fields.

“MakerBot’s industry-leading technology, comprehensive MakerBot 3D Ecosystem, innovative design and world-class branding will be an exciting addition to our 3D printing category,” Slagle says. “Partnering with MakerBot will allow us to provide MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers to the quickly expanding list of customers that are requesting this technology.”

According to the terms of the deal, WYNIT will distribute MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers and offer the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, MakerBot PLA and ABS Filaments, and other MakerBot 3D printing accessories through their US and Canadian outlets.

The line of MakerBot 3D products includes hardware, software, apps such as MakerBot PrintShop and MakerBot Mobile, and printing materials.
