Glynn Fletcher
EOS, the additive manufacturing solutions and device manufacturer, has just announced that Glynn Fletcher has been named President of EOS North America, Inc.
Fletcher was formerly President of GF Machining Solutions (GFMS), a supplier of laser texturing solutions, wire EDM, CNC, manual die-sinking systems, and high speed 3- and 5-axis milling machines.
GFMS and EOS have worked together in the past demonstrating a process chain for creating injection and blow-mold tooling at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS).
Dr. Hans Langer, founder and CEO of EOS, says the appointment will strengthen his company’s ability to evangelize for additive manufacturing across their customer base.
“Throughout his career, Glynn Fletcher’s deep understanding of innovative production processes has proved invaluable to the manufacturers of high-value parts,” says Langer. “Our customers will benefit from not only his long manufacturing experience but also his international perspective formed in Europe and the Americas.”
Langer says that North American customers interested in EOS technologies will lead to innovation and complete a move toward integrating AM with traditional manufacturing processes.
“As someone who has been around machining systems for many years, I recognize the tremendous potential of Additive Manufacturing as an industrial 3D printing process,” Fletcher says. “Manufacturers throughout North America can use EOS systems to expand markets, shorten lead times, and optimize their supply chains. The technology not only helps them make existing products in a new, efficient process, it allows them to completely re-imagine designs in ways that weren’t possible before.”
ALM provides high-performance polymers, including customized blends, for the AM industry. The company began operations under a technology license from the University of Texas at Austin in late 2003 when a group of chemical, processing, and engineering experts began an effort to commercialize the development of rapid manufacturing material systems. The company’s activities now include specialized research and development of thermoplastic rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing materials.
Integra Services offers service and support for rapid prototyping and AM technology. The company began operations in 2002 as an alternative service solution to users of rapid prototyping equipment, and now offers a selection of products for SLS processes from disposables to hardware like the M1 nitrogen generation system.
EOS was founded in 1989 and is a pioneer of Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology along with a portfolio of unique polymer processes. EOS offers a modular solution of systems which includes software, materials, technical, and consulting services.
