“Dental laboratories are now able to produce a diverse range of restorations using several resins quickly, simply and cost-effectively,” says Thomas Kwiedor, Master Dental Technician and Head of National Sales at BEGO Bremer Goldschlägerei and BEGO Medical. “All that directly in the laboratory with maximum flexibility and a unique degree of precision.”
Called the Varseo (which stands for variability, speed, efficiency, and openness) the new printing system from BEGO offers a wide range of materials and services, a unique cartridge system which allows materials to be changed within seconds, a low level of material consumption, and minimal material aging.
“Scientific testing of the Varseo special resins was performed by the Danube Private University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Constantin von See,” Kwiedor says. “With him, we have gained an experienced practitioner who is also very active in the research world.”
According to Kwiedor, the material properties of the Varseo resins have been confirmed in a number of scientific tests, and he says these plastics are characterized in particular by exceptional surface accuracy. He adds that the materials have a high residual monomer content but which lies within the detection limit and provides high volume stability.
Varseo is an “open file” device which is compatible with all dental software solutions. It works with eight different special resins to produce different “indications” to produce splints, drilling templates, CAD/cast partial denture frames, and individual impression trays.
A plan is also in the works to expand the system to include the option of producing bases, temporary crowns and bridge restorations, models, and permanent crowns and bridges, and BEGO says that expansion will be complete by the fourth quarter of 2015.
