LUXeXceL Launches Easy-to-Use Transparent 3D Printing Service

Additive manufacturing has been around for over 30 years, but recent innovations have presented new breakthrough applications as well as lower prices for the technology, which has caused explosive growth within the industry.

One such innovation is Printoptical Technology which was discovered by Netherlands-based LUXeXceL. LUXeXceL has used this patented process to be able to 3D print crystal-clear optics, which do not require post-processing, something which would be impossible with traditional 3D printing technology because of the effects of layering. They are able to achieve this feat by using a special process that slowly dries the layered resin, allowing it to cure with the previous layer more evenly. The company has been making tremendous strides over the last year and now wishes to further capitalize on their patented 3D printing process.

Today they’ve unveiled their online transparent 3D printing service, a service which is sure to garner the attention of businesses both small and large that require custom optics for a variety of key applications.

“At LUXeXceL we strive to make our service better every day,” stated LUXeXceL’s President and Founder, Richard van de Vrie. “Our new online ordering platform makes doing business with us much easier than before. The process of our new online platform is very simple: Upload your file, receive an instant quote and order your product. An easy to use and fast online ordering service to receive your optics and transparent products on demand.”

The new service is incredibly easy to use and is totally automated. To get started, users must create a login at the LUXeXceL site. Once logged in, users then design and upload their product to the platform. The system will instantly provide a quote for printing that particular product along with instant feedback on the design’s printability. Once a photo is uploaded, it is stored in the user’s personal gallery, and can be reopened at any time. From the gallery page a user can modify a design by uploading a new file, or order a printout of that particular design.

The system allows for dozens of file types including .stl, .obj, .magics, .prj, .fbx, .mpart, .zpr, .ply, .dae, .asm, and more. The maximum file size should be no larger than 500MB, and the maximum size that any printed optic can be is currently 200 x 380 x 20 mm.

Once a 3D printed optic or other transparent 3D printed object is ordered it will take approximately 10 business days to be printed. As for pricing, as an example, an optic measuring 48.8927 x 48.8928 x 6.1589mm will cost €1330 plus VAT plus VAT. This service is available 24/7 and is open to anyone.
