Web-based 3D printing company 3DLT has a different angle than 3D printing service providers and community hubs like Shapeways and i.materialise and they want to raise awareness by offering a serious discount on some cool, 3D printed products in the Mystery Box promotion.
While 3D designers can showcase and sell their work on the site, the objective of 3DLT is to provide exposure to designers and to facilitate connections between designers and retailers.
“3DLT is a platform that provides 3D printing as a service to retailers so they can sell 3D-printable products online and in-store,” Colin Klayer, COO of 3DLT, explains.
3DLT may be the perfect solution for you. Most of the products seem to range in price from $5 to $10, with the exception of some jewelry products, which should also appeal to retailers who clearly want to turn a profit.
For those retailers who want to provide a customization experience, 3DLT is taking 3D printing into retail sites where customers can engage with the on-site manufacture of some products.
“3DLT is unique,” Brad Zapp, Director of 3DLT elaborated. “They can bring together an automative [sic] customer experience. They can integrate with an existing retailer’s technology platform and they supply the content. They are the only firm that can do that in the country.”
