Tinkerine, a company that recently released their line of ‘Ditto’ 3D printers has now announced the release of their own 3D printer filament.
“Tinkerine filament is manufactured with strict quality, consistency, and purity (no fillers), at a value price point,” explained Eugene Suyu, President and CEO, Tinkerine. “We chose PLA because it is a safe, biodegradable type of plant-based plastic. Utilizing ‘green’ plastic emphasizes Tinkerine’s commitment to providing best practices for consumer safety surrounding the use of 3D printers and materials,” added Suyu.
Tinkerine’s filament utilizes the open spool standard, which means it can work with most FDM printers. They have announced two new lines of colors: ‘Candy’ and ‘Spring’. The cost? $44.99 per spool, which is competitive with most other companies.
Catherine Anderson, Program Manager at Science World in Vancouver, quoted: “We love the new range of colours! Students have said that the new colours will help bring their designs to life – and are also giving them ideas for new designs.”
Like most PLA filaments on the market today, this new line is biodegradable, and made from natural corn startch.
