Now LPW Technology Ltd., UK and Shaanxi 3D Technology have announced the completion of a strategic partnership deal to advance the use of optimized metal powders for Laser Metal Deposition (LMD), Electron Beam Melting (EBM), and Selective Laser Melting (SLM) use in China.
Chinese AM firm Shaanxi 3D Technology is taking advantage of rapid advances in their country which have seen the largest growth in installed systems worldwide. The Chinese commitment to AM — and a significant long-term investment in the form of government initiatives to develop advanced manufacturing industry and technologies — has led the makers of industrial AM and manufacturing solutions to seek partnerships. Shaanxi 3D builds 3D printing machines, and software optimization and on-demand parts services.
“Additive Manufacturing will profoundly affect the future of the manufacturing industry in China. Those who adopt new technologies early have always been at an advantage,” says Dr. Tao Ren, the General Manager of Shaanxi 3D Technology. “The technical possibilities for powder specification — and methods of manufacture — have evolved considerably. LPW are an experienced and reliable partner in this area to provide much needed strong improvements in quality materials that lower the risk to the implementation of these technologies.”
“As the implementation of additive technologies in manufacturing continues to grow, manufacturers at all levels are looking for advantages in a highly competitive global environment,” says LPW Commercial Director Phil Kilburn. “Additive is a crucial and evolving area of manufacturing in China, and Shaanxi 3D Technology shares our commitment to delivering the most cutting-edge materials and solutions for leading industry suppliers.”
