XYZPrinting announced today that they’ve released a new line of new PLA filaments as well as refillable ABS filament cartridges for their devices which provide a biodegradable option.
Two colors are ready to debut now, with Nature and Clear Yellow biodegradable PLA filaments available on Amazon. These initial colors will be joined throughout this year by seven further color options. In the next several months, we’ll see biodegradable PLA filaments available in black, white, red, blue, purple, green, and tangerine.

The XYZPrinting filament cartridge is easily replaced thanks to thoughtful design, and the company’s line of da Vinci 3D printers notifies users when filament is in short supply. The cartridges carry a retail price tag of $27.99, with refills running $24.99.
The da Vinci AiO (All-in-One) 3D printer-plus-scanner is an FFF-based machine with a maximum build volume of 20 x 20 x 19 cm capable of outputting objects at a resolution from 100 microns using 1.75 mm ABS or PLA filament. The device features a 2.6” FSTN LCM display, USB 2.0 connectivity, and Slit Laser Triangulation scanning for objects up to 15 x 15 cm at a scan resolution to 0.25 mm using XYZware software.
