Solidoodle Announces New Release of Soliprint 1.1.0 Software for Press 3D Printer

A prime key to what makes the Solidoodle Press 3D printer so wonderful and appealing for the user is they can just unpack it and let the creativity and designs start flowing, thanks to streamlined simplicity and the inclusion of SoliPrint software — one of its biggest selling points.

When you get your shiny new 3D printer home, you have one goal: to take it out of the box and make something cool. Basically no one wants to deal with a challenging learning curve or a bunch of complication and frustration.

Specifically designed for the Press, SoliPrint is there to make the 3D printing process easy and fun, avoiding the anticlimactic scenario of bringing the new baby home and then not knowing what the heck to do next.

Compatible with both Windows 7 or higher and Mac OSX 10.7 or higher, SoliPrint offers a simple menu. There is no command line option. While there are a number of options for modifying the slicing process, the software is easy to use because the printer is doing all the work for you — leaving you only to choose items like filament and print resolution. And then click print.

A good thing just got even better though, with the release of SoliPrint 1.1.0. Now, several functions and choices you may have been sort of wishing you had are available, along with some changes to extraneous details.

Clearing up some smaller items, default press temperatures have been changed from 250/90 to 215/90 for the extruder/bed. You also have the option to turn off extruders when closing the application.

A number of modifications have been made regarding STL models, and well as new support allowing dragging and dropping STL files. For STL models:

SoliPrint 1.1.0  is still only available to work with the Solidoodle Press. And while there are still some features lacking that you might find inconvenient, Solidoodle is aware of and working on the following minor issues:

The new release is available for download from Solidoodle now. Do you have a Solidoodle Press, and will the elements in this new release be helpful to you? Is this a product you are curious about or are may be planning to purchase in the near future? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the New Release of SoliPrint 1.1.0 Software forum over at 3DPB.com.
