The popular 3D modeling marketplace is giving you a couple more weeks to think up an awesome 3D entry for the Valentine’s Day 3D Printing Challenge, as well as finding a date to share a gift with — and if you are still single on Valentine’s Day, well, that’s just more time to keep thinking up creative projects and enjoying time with good friends and family (positive thinking, right?). The CGTrader judges are looking for unique, 3D printable designs like jewelry, art, home accessories, or fun gadgets. It’s time to roll up your sleeves, look into your heart, and summon all your charm in the love department. You will be judged on:

The CGTrader Valentine’s Day 3D Printing Challenge runs from January 14 through February 9th, 2015 with a wide range of prizes for the one winner and two runners-up such as filament from Cartetsio3D, CGTrader promo items, cash gifts, credits, and t-shirts. Suffice to say, if you win, you are getting lots of goodies. They encourage you to work with classic ideas that you can put your own spin on.
With another project heading into spring, CGTrader wants not only to see 3D printing in the classrooms, but to seriously put some pepper on the awesomeness level in what they can choose to do with projects. In their 3D Printing in Education Challenge, they call on all designers to “reshape modern education” — and would like you to make it your mission to keep kids from watching the clock in class — or falling asleep altogether. The challenge invites 3D designers to grab the attention of schoolchildren and have them flocking to the computers and 3D printers.

The contest began on January 21, and entries are to be uploaded to CG Trader by March 18, 2015. Two first place winners, two first runners-up, and two second runners-up will be chosen as there are two categories: Best 3D in Education Challenge Model — and the Best 3D in Education Challenge Portfolio. Multiple prizes are offered for each category, like filament from Cartesio3D, 3D models from The 3D Printing Store, a download course from 3D Buzz, credits, a Tinkercad goodie pack, and credits and promotions from CGTrader.
