With multiple improvements included, the most exciting feature of MakerBot PrintShop 1.3 is the Medal Maker, announced by MakerBot as its “most prolific tool yet,” allowing users to make use of:
- 7 different styles of medals.
- 27 icons for customizing for specific sport or events.
- Customized text fields.
In a user-friendly format, once you decide on the options you’d like to use for your medal or medals, producing it is as simple as pressing the print button and sending the file to your MakerBot 3D printer. Also available is the very convenient option to send it wirelessly. If you want to save your file, you have the option of putting it in the cloud, saving it to your MakerBot cloud library.
MakerBot makes their software enticing with the invitation to use something new that involves “no learning curve.” While we all want to try creating some fun new things digitally, often with today’s I’m-too-busy culture, there just isn’t time to take out for learning a new skill in our free time. PrintShop is a fun product to use for making many innovate objects with your MakerBot Replicator. PrintShop 1.3 offers a user-friendly tablet application which should appeal to a wide number of current and potential users, and is also available with a wifi option.
Do you own a MakerBot printer and do you use any of these products, or have you tried them? Tell us about it in the MakerBot PrintShop 1.3 forum over at 3DPB.com.
