Today, ColorFabb has announced the unveiling of yet another 3D printer filament. This one is called brassFill, and it is based on a completely new proprietary PLA formulation, and most notably provides the ability to 3D print objects that have a finished golden look to them.
“The all new brassFill has unique properties for desktop 3D Printing, providing the possibility to polish 3D Printed parts into shiny golden objects,” explains the company.”
brassFill in manufactured with a brass powder that is sourced to comply with RoHS safety standards, as well as being REACH compliant.
When brassFill is used on an FDM 3D printer it comes off the print bed with a greenish matt surface, which is similar to that of the bronzeFill. Once polished, it displays an appearance that looks like gold (as seen in the 3D printed “gold bars” you see above).
It should be interesting to see all the new design ideas that pop up around the internet, utilizing some of ColorFabb’s brilliant metal-like filaments. What will you be 3D printing with ColorFabb’s new brassFill? Discuss in the brassFill forum thread on 3DPB.com.
