Deloitte’s 2014 Fast 500 Rankings: 3D Systems Makes the List as Highest Ranking 3D Printing Company

It’s not enough to be lauded as the inventors of 3D printing. 3D Systems just keeps receiving one accolade after another as well, as they continue to forge ahead with seeking new challenges, making innovations, and just doing good business all around. Staying on top requires a new competitive edge and constant consideration pertaining to what the client base requires — and with technology progressing at seemingly lightning speed, client needs are fluid and changing constantly.

It’s just been announced that 3D Systems has made the list for Deloitte’s 2014 Fast 500 rankings. The rankings announce and honor North American companies based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2009 to 2013, with 3DS rolling into the mix with a 355% growth between the designated years, awarding them the top ranking for 3D printing companies.

“Investor confidence has been steadily rising in the North American region – especially since last year – which translates to an accelerated pace of growth for businesses across sectors,” said Jim Atwell, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and national managing partner of the emerging growth company practice.

The rankings cover companies in the following areas:

• Technology
• Media
• Telecommunications
• Life sciences
• Clean technology sectors

We’ve been reporting on 3DS lately weekly — if not daily — as they steal headlines left and right with new 3D printers, scanners, materials, or improvements and new features made to existing products which are relatively new as well. We have only just reported the news on announcement of their Continuous, High-Speed Fab-Grade Printer, which they propose will perform 3D printing 50 times faster than any other, as well as numerous articles about the sights that were to be seen at their display at EuroMold last month, with one unveiling after another from several new next generation 3D printers like the ProX 400, 500 and 800, to the new 3DMe Photobooths delivering 3D printed customized figurines, and the Capture Mini 3D Scanner offering power and precision in a compact, desktop 3D scanner.

Ranking is compiled from applications submitted directly to the Technology Fast 500 Web site and public company database research conducted by Deloitte LLP.
