iMakr Education Sponsorship Program Offers FlashForge Dreamer 3D Printers to Schools at Half Price

It pays to be in school, and smart companies like iMakr know that it pays in the long run to cultivate the much younger crowd, who are the makers, inventors, entrepreneurs, and scientists of the future. iMakr is, with FlashForge, offering not only a great discount on 3D printers but also training, support, and more for schools who want to take them up on a wonderful offer.

With co-sponsor FlashForge, iMakr is offering the FlashForge Dreamer for half price, at £499 (about $622 US), instead of £999. In their effort to put 3D printing into schools affordably, parents and teachers can pre-order now here through the companies’ Education Sponsorship Program.

The FlashForge Dreamer Dual Extruder is a midsize FDM 3D printer featuring high performance. It is a professional printer with a sleek look that offers a high resolution LCD screen and arrives fully assembled with filament and one SD card. It connects to any computer running Windows XP/Vista, and uses the Flashprint Software Package, which is user-friendly and offers quick access for novices to get up and running, especially with the multiple settings options which are helpful for both beginning and advanced users.

iMakr offers on-site training and support, as well as 3D printing materials and printable STEM files from MyMiniFactory.com (iMakr’s free library of 3D printable, beautiful, and useful objects) to get you started.

We have reviewed this printer previously and found it to be very user-friendly with great print quality for the price. The dual extruders make a big difference and also allow for the creation of support material, as well as printing of multiple colored objects. See more on our review here.

This is not the first time the two companies have teamed up in proactive sponsorship of young people, encouraging creativity and motivating this with giveaways and discounts.

We reported last month that iMakr and FlashForge were teaming up to give away a FlashForge printer in a Halloween contest that used their very appropriate for the holiday motto ‘the only limitation is your imagination.’ And that motto obviously stands strong in the classroom, where both iMakr and FlashForge are championing schools and students to explore technology of today that will continue to progress into tomorrow, and especially for students with the current emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and manufacturing) learning.
