Designed by Renishaw with their new optical system and built in-house to both complement and benefit the Renishaw AM250 system, the EVO Project is a production-focused, single material system. Focusing on product manufacturing, Renishaw is promising to deliver a machine that is smart with engineering expertise and designed with global manufacturing businesses in mind, whom they have been supplying for decades.
Currently, Renishaw is showing off their many years of engineering expertise, which are now instilled in this latest system, at EuroMold 2014 in their two-tiered booth. Unveiling the EVO Project, they also suggested the name may be just provisional.
“The EVO Project is purely a Renishaw product and represents a move towards a highly-focused production capable system. While the AM 250 will continue to be sold with the flexibility to run multiple materials, the EVO Project brings the engineering expertise of Renishaw to bear on a new AM platform for the first time,” said Bob Bennett, Sales Manager for Renishaw’s AM division.
Beginning beta testing soon at Renishaw’s Miskin, South Wales production facility, the EVO Project system provides the following:
- 500W laser in a 250 mm x 250 mm x 350 mm build chamber
- Integrated materials handling and sieving
- Capacity filtration system
- Builds in excess of 10 days possible with in-built powder sieving and recirculation
- A new larger touchscreen
- More intuitive controls
- 19 inch HMI user interface
- Intelligent workflow
The EVO project is designed for single material industrial production, emphasizing automation, monitoring technologies, and reduced operator interaction.
