PrintLab Partnering with CraftBot to Deliver Educational 3D Printing Solutions Around the World

UK 3D printing curriculum developer and global distributor PrintLab was founded in 2016 with a mission to support the growth of 3D printing in education by building an educational ecosystem of products, packages, and resources meant just for schools. The company has introduced an online guide to help educators get started with the technology, and later came out with an online 3D printing learning portal for teachers.

This spring, PrintLab partnered with CREATE Education to support 3D printing in UK schools, and today the company announced that it is now embarking on a global educational collaboration with Hungarian 3D printer manufacturer CraftBot.

“Our curriculum is currently taught in around 300 schools globally and we’re proud to have it bundled with the multi-award winning CraftBot Plus 3D printer – providing educators with a complete 3D printing solution,” PrintLab’s Co-Founder Jason Yeung told 3DPrint.com.

Thanks to this partnership, PrintLab’s online learning platform will be available through CraftBot and its extensive reseller network, which spans over 20 different countries.

Every year around the world there are millions of unfilled STEM jobs, because people just don’t have the necessary knowledge to keep up with more modern technologies, such as 3D printing, in the workforce. The company’s goal is to give teachers a full infrastructure in order to better prepare the next generation for innovative careers that will heavily use 3D printing and design.

“Slowly but surely, the 3D revolution took off within education, but the real breakthrough has so far been hindered by a serious obstacle: apart from a few ground-breaking and enthusiastic teachers, most got stuck at the start,” said Éva Szász, Marketing Manager at CraftBot. “After months of research and seeking, through an enthusiastic English teacher acting as an intermediary, CraftBot has finally found PrintLab Classroom who can create the missing link with their self-developed curricula.”

Now that PrintLab’s Classroom curriculum has been bundled with the award-winning CraftBot Plus 3D printer and ecosystem, along with the CraftBot Education Package, schools will be able to access a complete educational solution dedicated to preparing students for the future workforce.

“In recent months, we have been testing the CraftBot Plus 3D printer to ensure our curriculum is packaged with a product that is well suited for the classroom. We are delighted to say that the CraftBot has exceeded our expectations in terms of ease-of-use, reliability, safety and print quality,” said Yeung. “We have a range of important and exciting themes planned for our lesson plan library this year, including designing for disability and circular economy projects, which we look forward to sharing with existing and new CraftBot users.”

At the moment, PrintLab Classroom, which as Yeung mentioned is currently taught in over 300 schools around the world, only comes in English, Polish and Greek versions. But now, PrintLab and CraftBot will work together to develop additional translations of the combined 3D printing educational bundles, in order to provide the global community of schools with access to comprehensive, creative 3D printing curriculum from both companies.

The new CraftBot-PrintLab EDU Bundle will be available starting next month.
