3Doodler Create+ 3D Printing Pen Announced

I love 3D printing, and I love 3D modeling. Being able to model designs accurately in CAD and print them repeatedly and consistently is a joy. But this can be tricky and time consuming for newcomers. Sure, it can be fun to print models found online, but what if you want to print your own creations? What if you want to make something specific without wasting a lot of time? I like to sketch my designs before modeling. And if you want to see your sketch in 3D before modeling, or create something by hand? Maybe you want to doodle in 3D? Well, you can with a 3D printing pen.

We’ve been following updates from Kickstarter darling 3Doodler as the high-selling line continues to advance, and now they’re back with an all new 3D printing pen and project kits. The new 3Doodler Create+ is the 3D printing pen for adults who like to draw outside the lines. The Create+ is sleek, comes in a number of fun colors and is easier to use than the previous generation pen.

“It’s time to start holding 3D printers and 3D printing products to a higher standard,” says 3Doodler Co-Founder and CEO Maxwell Bogue. “Faulty early-generation products are no longer acceptable to the community, or end users. The Create+, even more so than its predecessor was built to work effortlessly right out of the box. We want Doodlers saying ‘it just works,’ giving them more time to create as a result.”

The 3Doodler Create+ sports a number of enhanced features including what 3Doodler claims is the world’s first dual drive system in a 3D printing device, simplifying loading and operation for a wider range of plastics, and dramatically reducing jams. Other major improvements include a new heating algorithm for enhanced performance, auto retraction to prevent oozing, and auto sleep for safety. The following is a full list of the new features…

The Create+ dual drive makes loading filament easy and reduces jams

“The key to 3Doodler’s success has been watching a high-quality, cost-effective tool that inspires original content and creates communities,” says Bogue. “3Doodler devices have been used to make everything from dresses, architectural models and statues, to phone cases, wallets and flowers. They’ve been used in classroom settings to enhance tactile learning, bridge gender gaps and combat learning disabilities. These new Create extensions nudge users forward in their search for inspiration, offering an easy-to-master guide and step-by-step instructions for those wanting to craft in 3D.”

The 3Doodler Create+ is compatible with all existing 3Doodler Create Plastics, Canvas Series, and Project Kits. It is currently sold through [easyazon_link identifier=”B07B7PQCZV” locale=”US” tag=”3dprint09-20″]Amazon[/easyazon_link] and 3Doodler.com. Create+ pen sets start at $79.99 MSRP, which is $20 cheaper than the previous version of the Create pen. Several new kits, including Bookends, Robotics, Clutches and Decorative Lights have been announced along with the Create+, and will retail for $29.99 MSRP wherever 3Doodler products are sold (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Michaels, etc.).

Owners of the 3Doodler v.1, 2.0, or Create pen, can take advantage of their trade-up bundle offer to take their Doodling to the next level with the Create+. More information about this opportunity can be found at www.3doodler.com.
