XYZPrinting Begins Shipping World’s First All-in-one 3D Printer & Scanner, The da Vinci 1.0 AiO to the US Market

I recall back in the early 2000’s when all-in-one printers, copiers, and scanners began to hit the market. The ability to have a copy machine in one’s own home was a godsend to those of us needing to run out to the local office supply store, oftentimes on numerous occasions throughout the day. It took decades after printers began entering the home and office before desktop scanning and copying became available, but once it was, I jumped all over this new technology.

Here we are over a decade later, and we are about to enter the realm of all-in-one desktop 3D printers, copiers, and scanners. Unlike in the 2D market, things have progressed much more rapidly within the 3D space. Just a few years into the emergence of desktop 3D printing, XYZPrinting, backed by the world’s leading electronic manufacturing conglomerate, New Kinpo Group, has announced that their da Vinci 1.0 AiO (all–in-one) 3D printer and scanner is now shipping to the US market.

At just $799, the da Vinci 1.0 AiO is priced below many similar printers which lack its scanning capabilities. Known for their affordable, yet high-quality FFF-based machines, XYZPrinting is taking the lead when it comes to all-in-one machines. The da Vinci 1.0 AiO was unveiled back in June by the company, and is finally available in the US. Below are the general specifications of the new machine:

With 3D scanners often as pricey as a new 3D printer, as well as complicated to use, this machine will put new capabilities in the hands of hobbyists and businesses here in the US. It will certainly be interesting to see what new applications for this machine emerge over the coming months.

“With 3D printing continuing to gain traction across a variety of markets, including education, design, fashion, medical and automotive, the possibilities are just beginning to be realized,” said Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting. “The Da Vinci 1.0 AiO was designed with quality and affordability in mind, to enable the continued discovery of applications and usages for 3D printing.”

The da Vinci 1.0 AiO uses a proprietary scanning software called XYZScan. This software allows users to scan with the click of a button, preview that scan, edit it, and then print out a copy if they choose. The patent-pending proprietary scanning algorithm used will fill in voids to streamline the printing process. The high resolution scanner works in unison with diagonally placed laser sensors and a turntable, to perform a comprehensive scan within just 5 minutes.

For those of you interested in ordering this new machine, it can be purchased at Amazon, Micro Center, NewEgg and Studica. Let us know if you do purchase this 3D printer in the da Vinci 1.0 AiO forum thread on 3DPB.com.
