When you try to define what a perfect consumer oriented 3D printer would look like, The Micro seems to fit that definition pretty well. It’s cheap, it’s small, and most importantly it is easy to use, according to the company.
“It is the most affordable 3D printer that can be used right out of the box. Perfect for beginners and experts alike, just plug in the printer, download or create models, hit print, and watch your custom creations form right before your eyes,” says their Kickstarter description.
Over 1,250 backers of the project must agree, as M3D has already brought in over $320,000 within hours of launching their Kickstarter campaign. Their stated goal of $50,000 was achieved, literally within minutes of the project going live on Kickstarter.
The Specifications of The Micro 3D printer are as follows:

- Printer Weight: 2.2 lb (1 kg).
- Filament: standard 1.75mm. ~200g (pla) ~150g(abs) rolls.

- Operating System Compatibility: Windows, Mac, or Linux based system.

The company expects to begin shipping The Micro to its Kickstarter backers between August 2014 and March 2015. They have already sold out of two reward packages on Kickstarter, so if you would like to get this device, you will need to back the project for at least $299.
