In this keynote session, Tim Ruffner, Commercial Sales Channel Manager Mid-West Region of Desktop Metal will show you how it is easier than ever to produce metal parts and pieces. He will go over an overview of the 3D printing in metal process from design to execution, and will explain the benefits, uses, and diverse applications of 3D printing in metal.
- Session 2 |Metal Additive Manufacturing for Industry and Art. If you think Metal AM is only relevant in an industrial context – think again. In this insightful session with Dr. Arif Sirinterlikci, you’ll learn about numerous applications of 3D printing in metal, both industrial and non-industrial. Dr. Sirinterlikci will discuss his work with GE additive manufacturing, his work replicating historical artifacts and using RTV molding, as well as his experiences conducting industrial and artist workshops with beginners in the field, and more.
- Session 3 |Design Considerations for Metal Additive Manufacturing. In this session, Dr. Gary Halada, Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering at Stony Brook University will show you how to design a prototype or part for printing in metal. He’ll cover specifications including maximum overhang length, maximum angle for no supports, maximum and minimum tolerances, and more.
