All of the new products and their accompanying software will start to roll out in early 2018, and are designed to ramp up the adoption of home 3D printing, making the technology accessible, affordable, more intuitive, and safe for everyday use.
“For a very long time the 3D printing technology has been way out of reach for families and small businesses,” said XYZprinting CEO Simon Shen. “Our goal with the new line of products is not only to make 3D printing cost-effective for everyone, but also provide casual users and small business owners the tools and confidence to try their hand at this technology and incorporate it into their everyday lives, whether at home or at the office.”
XYZprinting will also be introducing a 3D printing solution targeted specifically to high-end small businesses, in order to help the owners get on a level playing field against their competitors who may already be implementing the technology. According to XYZprinting, two of the main barriers that keep businesses and schools from adopting 3D printing are ease of use and price – but the company is determined to change this.
This accessible, full-color 3D printer was created with small businesses in mind, demonstrated by its ease of use and access to multi-color 3D printing for a lower cost than other machines offer. The da Vinci Color AiO will be available for purchase this year, at the end of Q2/beginning of Q3.
XYZprinting is also introducing its da Vinci Nano 3D printer at CES 2018, which only prints in one color but is completely portable. The mass consumer product costs just $229, and is designed to be an entry-level 3D printer for hobbyists, families, and schools. The durable da Vinci Nano is also plant-based and fully enclosed, so it’s safe to use for prototyping purposes and around children.
XYZprinting has created, and bundled, a software package for the Nano, which is meant to inspire creativity while teaching users how to utilize 3D printing technology. It also comes with the XYZmaker Mobile app, so users with a WiFi connection can 3D print directly from their tablets. While you won’t be able to see this at CES 2018, the company will also be launching a microsite this year with more educational materials for home and school.
While it’s not the first 3D printing pen the company has released, it is the first to feature temperature modification in the form of a cooling technology that keeps kids’ hands safe from hot temperatures.
You can find all three of these new XYZprinting products at the company’s CES 2018 booth #7903 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center next week. Additionally, XYZprinting will also be showcasing a range of existing commercial 3D printers, and other ancillary products, at the show, which runs January 9-12.
