There are few, if any, industries that have not been affected by 3D printing. Aerospace, automotive, construction, education, the list goes on. But one of the most important, if not the most important, industry that 3D printing has changed has been medicine, as well as dentistry. Surgeries are being carried out on 3D printed medical models, allowing doctors to master operations before performing them on patients, allowing for shorter procedures and less patient risk. Paralysis is being prevented with new kinds of 3D printed implants, and new drugs are being brought to market more quickly thanks to the 3D printed human tissue being used for testing.
Surgeries and dental procedures are being made more effective with 3D printed surgical guides, and people who could not previously afford good prosthetics are receiving new 3D printed limbs for minimal cost. There are countless stories of the lives being saved and changed by this technology, and while the human impact is paramount, the impact on the medical industry itself cannot be ignored. The business side of things is going to be in focus at the Additive Manufacturing Strategies summit, which is titled “The Future of 3D Printing in Medicine and Dentistry: A Business and Investment Summit.”The two-day summit will feature 38 expert speakers from the fields of additive manufacturing, medicine, dentistry, and investment. New speakers have been continually added to the list, with the latest being Dr. Matthew Di Prima, a Materials Scientist with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He will be part of a panel entitled “The Future of 3D Printing in Medical Markets.”
Attendees at the summit will receive an extremely worthwhile experience, getting the chance to learn directly from experts about an industry that is affecting everyone, and in particular about the business and investment side of that industry. There’s still time to register at a discounted rate – if you register before January 15, you can receive an 8.5% discount for a two-day cost of $1,095. On-site passes are $1,195. You can also attend only one day for $795, and group rates are also available. If you’d like to register, you can do so here.
