Winbo has two other Dragon 3D printers – the smallest, the Dragon(S), is still pretty sizable with a build area of 458 x 305 x 508 mm, while the Dragon(XL) is large enough to 3D print furniture. The Dragon(L)4 is right in the middle, with a build area of 620 x 458 x 610 mm. Like the Super Helper 3-in-1, it’s a multifunctional machine as well, with laser cutting and laser engraving capabilities.
The Dragon line of 3D printers is known for being fast, and the (L)4 is no exception, with a print speed of up to about 100 mm/s. It’s capable of printing with several different materials, including PLA, ABS, TPU, TPE, and PEGT. It’s built of solid, stable metal and is fully enclosed for stable temperature and safety. A built-in battery allows for continuous printing even after loss of power; if power is cut off, the printer will continue for five to ten minutes. Once power is restored, the battery will recharge.
The Dragon(L)4 is user-friendly, with a seven-inch full-color touchscreen and a newly designed interface. It even comes equipped with loudspeakers so you can listen to tutorials or music if you choose. The 3D printer features an offline printing mode via USB; there’s no need to be connected to a computer and the machine will save designs once the USB has been removed. There’s also Wi-Fi connectivity so you can browse and download 3D printable models directly from your 3D printer.
Safety was clearly a priority for Winbo when designing the (L)4 – in addition to the filtration, there’s also a leakage switch that cuts off power in case of a short. There’s also an emergency stop button that you can press if something goes terribly wrong, avoiding damage to your printer. A dual-feeding feature makes it fast and easy to change materials.
Winbo is a versatile company with a broad range of 3D printers, from simple, small desktop machines like the Super Helper to its huge six- and nine-unit 3D printers. The Dragon(L)R is the latest in what has become a large collection of printers for every need. Winbo’s newest 3D printer is available from its web store, retailing for $7,999.
