Shining 3D Opens New EMEA Headquarters and Introduces Two New 3D Scanners

There are a few companies that immediately come to mind as leaders of their respective countries’ 3D printing industries. For China, one of those companies is Shining 3D, manufacturer of high-caliber yet affordable 3D scanners as well as 3D printers. Shining 3D’s reputation extends well beyond China, and now the company itself is expanding outside the country’s borders with the official opening of their new EMEA headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.

Shining 3D’s products are sold around the world, but sales outside of China have been thus far handled by the company’s distributors. With the establishment of the office in Germany, Shining 3D will be able to directly provide service and support to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Our innovative, world class 3D scanning and 3D printing solutions, including the new EinScan-SE and EinScan-SP models that we are also launching today, have been globally recognized for their quality and reliability,” said Oscar Meza, VP of global sales. “With the opening of the new EMEA office in Germany, our goal is to build a solid sales infrastructure and provide our clients with qualified local customer support and advanced training capabilities.”

The opening of the EMEA headquarters is part of a larger expansion effort that will eventually include an office in the US, as Shining 3D told us when we spoke with them at CES in January. CES was also the forum for the company’s most recent major product introduction, the EinScan-Pro+ 3D scanner and the EinStart-C 3D printer, but along with the opening of the German office come two new 3D scanners, as Meza said: the EinScan-SE and EinScan-SP.

The EinScan-SE and EinScan-SP are the first products to be officially launched by the EMEA office, and they continue the progression of the EinScan-S desktop 3D scanner line, which has become known for delivering both high speed and accuracy in scanning. Both of the new models deliver even faster, more accurate scans than their predecessors, with the EinScan-SP capable of taking single shot scans in under four seconds and 360° scans in less than one minute, with maximum single shot accuracy of below 50 microns. The EinScan-SE, meanwhile, is capable of taking single shot scans in under eight seconds with an accuracy of under 100 microns, and 360º scans in under two minutes. Specifications for the SE include:

Both scanners are designed to be easy to use, even for those inexperienced with 3D scanning. One-click uploading allows for easy sharing to 3D model platforms, and both scanners offer automatic alignment and mesh generation to enable direct 3D printing.

The EinScan-SE and EinScan-SP are not available in China yet, but they will be at a later date. For now, the new models serve to showcase Shining 3D’s capabilities to their new EMEA base, and there will be a lot more to look forward to as the company eyes the United States and elsewhere. Shining 3D’s priority has always been accessibility in both 3D scanning and 3D printing, and with their new headquarters as well as their new products, they’re now more accessible than ever.

“More accessible technology can help to breech barriers between technology and common people, and go beyond the media hype,” Meza told 3DPrint.com at CES. “Our name has become well-known for both 3D scanning and 3D printing, which makes it easier to establish communication when we have new products.”
