Details Emerge on Hyrel 3D’s new 30M 3D Printer

Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms like Indigogo have been godsends for many small 3D printer manufacturers, who never would have found the funding or the motivation to launch on their own. Crowdfunding has brought us some of the most innovative machines we have seen, and launched many upstart businesses into the stratosphere.

Way back in November of 2012, which seems like an eternity when dealing with this market, a man named Daniel Hutchison launched a project to fund the production of the HYREL 3D printer. By offering the machine, equipped with both single and double extruders as well as other options, he was able to cater to a large area of the desktop 3D printing market. The crowdfunding project blew away its goal of $50,000, raising, over $150,000, and HYREL 3D was launched.

Here we are, almost two years later, and the company has made tremendous strides. In addition to having a line of five different HYREL Engine 3D printers to offer, they also now have the HYREL System 3D printer available, which has an embedded PC in it, as well as an enclosed build chamber for controlling the build environment. The printer is packed full of features, as well as top notch specifications.

New HYREL 3D 30m

Today we learned that Hutchison and his company will soon be releasing the new HYREL System 30M, with a load of upgrades over the HYREL System 30. According to the company, the new machine will have the following upgrades:

• Full ATX power supply – 650W with an easy upgrade to 1kW
• More internal lighting of the build area
• Constructed with new custom extrusions, for easy mounting of various accessories
• Orange acrylic/polycarbonate option, which will filter UV light
• Move to 1/3 (from 2/2) Yoke configuration. The three heads will have full 200 x 200 x 200mm print volume.
• X-Axis Stretch Option available soon (+50mm).
• Dual Bubble Covers – internal material storage on both sides
• Stainless Steel Control Panel
• Stainless Steel Drawer
• Stainless Steel Plenum
• An upward compatibility with Gantry Option

The printer is a beast of a machine if you have the money to drop on it. Based on the price of $4,000—$7,000 for the HYREL 30 models, it is safe to assume that this machine will be at least this price as well, depending on the options you choose.
