3DMakerWorld Launches Artifex 2 3D Printer on Kickstarter

As with any new industry, you will find that at the start there are a lot of companies vying for market share, offering one or two key features to stand out from the other products they are competing against. Then once the market gets saturated with a variety of different options, a few companies will combine the best features and present a complete product.

The 3D printing space is just about getting to this point. Over the last year, we have seen a tremendous number of new printer manufacturers enter the market. Build volume, price, print speed, resolution, material compatibility, and multiple extruders, were all features that we saw companies integrate into their machines in order to stand out. Now it seems as though that time is approaching when buyers simply want a complete, well equipped 3D printer.

Today a company called 3DMakerWorld has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for their Artifex 2 3D printer. With this machine they seek to do exactly what I have mentioned above, provide a printer to the market equipped with most of the specifications and capabilities any 3D printing enthusiast would want or need.

If there was one main selling point of the Artifex 2 it would be its ability to print with flexible filament, like Filaflex and NinjaFlex, without worrying about extrusion mishaps. With many 3D printers, you will find that flexible materials can have difficulty extruding, as the extruder of the machines are not built for this type of material. With the Artifex 2, this worry is thrown out of the window.

The machine, which comes with either single or dual extruders for the option to print with multiple colors, is more than just a flexible filament printing whiz. It is packed full of specs which consumers crave. From a large build volume, to speed, to precision, the machine has it all, according to their Kickstarter campaign. 3DMakerWorld hopes to raise $30,000 by October 18 in order to launch full scale production of these new machines. In order to do so, they are offering backers a discount. The Artifex 2 will come in both kit form and fully assembled, and there will be a single and dual extrusion version of the machine. The kits, for the single and dual extrusion machines, start at $1,395, and $1,595 respectively, while the fully assembled versions are a little higher at $1,795, and $1,945. The very first printers will begin shipping as early as December of this year, provided the company reaches their Kickstarter goal.
