Robo Offers New Kickstarter Reward on Robo C2 and R2 3D Printers, More Details on the Robo App

As we recently reported, the recently rebranded company Robo launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new 3D printers, the Robo C2 and Robo R2. The Kickstarter has already raised more than three times the $100K goal (It was $335,115 at the time of editing). The Super Early Bird rewards for the C2 and R2 are both sold out, but the Early Bird rewards are still available, offering $100 off the retail price on the C2 and $200 off the R2. Those sound like good deals, but what if you are clamoring for both a Robo C2 and a Robo R2? Say you want one for home and another for the office, what then? Well, Robo has heard the call and is now offering a new Kickstarter reward: The Robo C2 and Robo R2 3D Printer Bundle.

The bundle comes with one Robo C2 and one Robo R2 3D printer, naturally. It also includes two 300g spools of PLA. The bundle is priced at $500 total off of the retail price for the printers and PLA, with an estimated delivery in January 2017. Need a 3D printer for the holidays? The Robo C2 3D printer is estimated to deliver in November 2016. These deals are only available until the end of the Kickstarter campaign, which is swiftly approaching. The Robo Kickstarter ends on October 21st at 8:30am PST.

The Robo C2 and Robo R2 are powered by the free Robo App, which allows you to print 3D models directly from your smartphone.

“Most of the models found online need to be prepared to print (sliced),” says Robo CEO Braydon Moreno, “Makerbot works with just a small fraction of 3D models that are Makerbot verified files through Thingiverse. We can download any 3D printable model file from any marketplace and prepare (slice) them through our app and over to the machine according to the settings you provide.”

Not only can the Robo App download 3D model files from online marketplaces and slice them, but it also has the ability to access your own cloud libraries through Google Drive and Dropbox, to slice those files and send them to a Robo 3D printer for printing, as well.
