Partnership Between x3D Group and Sokar Additive Technology Brings Prismlab’s RAPID 3D Printers to More Europeans

If you’re a person or business who doesn’t have a 3D printer but wants or needs to print things every now and then, it’s critical to have a good 3D printing service bureau you can rely on. Quality and speed are the most essential qualities of a good printing service, but it’s so much easier when you can find one that’s local to you. You get your prints faster, you save on shipping, and you can more easily communicate with your service provider if it’s nearby. Fortunately, the ever-growing number of 3D printing service bureaus means that more and more people are able to take advantage of local printers – and quality ones, too.

For businesses in France, the x3D Group is an excellent resource, not least because of the range of services and products they offer. The Lyon-based company actually has three divisions, each dedicated to a different area of 3D printing. x3D Print offers stereolithography 3D printing in a wide range of materials for competitive cost, while x3D EBAM provides metal printing using Sciaky’s Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing technology. x3D Pro, meanwhile, is the retail branch of the company and a European distributor for China-based Prismlab and their ultra-fast RAPID 3D printers.

Now a new partnership is enabling the x3D Group to expand the marketing of RAPID printers further throughout Europe – namely, Italy. Sokar Additive Technology Ltd. has signed on to distribute the RAPID series, which has been very positively received by x3D’s customers so far.

“We are very pleased by the results, our clients order 3D printing services on x3d-print.com and they are impressed by the surface quality and the low costs,” said Kamal Bounouara, president, CEO and founder of x3D Group.

According to the x3D Group, RAPID printers deliver such smooth surface finish that no grinding or polishing is required – parts are ready to go as soon as they’re removed from the print bed. They can print up to 20 times faster than competitive printers, and the largest model – the RAPID 600 – offers a build volume of 576 x 576 x 324 mm. x3D also offers PreciX, a line of versatile acrylic resins with properties similar to ABS.

The partnership with the x3D Group is one of several that Sokar Additive Technology has cemented lately. They’ve also signed agreements with Sciaky as well as Italian printer manufacturer BlueTek. The agreement with x3D looks to be a mutually beneficial one – Sokar has already received a lot of interest from Italian companies for RAPID printers, which is a good sign for both partners as they strive to become leaders in 3D printing in their respective countries.

“We’re very excited by this new venture to partner with x3D Group and its team,” said Giovanni Vergano, Technical Director at Sokar. “We’re impressed with the competitive-edge technological route that x3D Group took to increase the productivity of their clients.”

Sokar’s clients should soon be able to benefit from that same increased productivity, while the x3D Group continues to establish their reputation as a top 3D printing service provider and begins to extend their reach outside of France.
