Concept Laser’s Mlab Cusing 3D Printing Technology Makes Its Debut in the UAE

As metal 3D printing becomes more and more widespread, it’s interesting to look at how the techniques for printing metal have diversified. It’s been over 30 years since Chuck Hull invented stereolithography and gave the world 3D printing, and in the ensuing decades, different forms of 3D printing – especially metal 3D printing – have grown, branched out and spread to build the industry we know today. And it’s far from being finished – dozens of companies and institutions are working constantly to develop new methods of metal additive manufacturing that are faster, more reliable, and capable of things the 3D printing industry has never seen before.

German company Concept Laser is responsible for one of the older – but still evolving – metal 3D printing processes in the industry. LaserCUSING was introduced to the world in 2001, and its inventor, Concept Laser founder Frank Herzog, was recognized last year by the Deutscher Zukunftspreis (German Future Prize) for his contributions to 3D printing. LaserCUSING, made available through the company’s Mlab series of printers, has made an impact on a wide range of industries, from aerospace to jewelry, and it has just become available for the first time in the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE has stepped up to be a leader in 3D printing, with the city-state of Dubai planning to become the world leader by 2025. It’s certainly not a far-fetched goal, as Dubai continues to surprise and impress with their 3D printing-related innovations such as the world’s first 3D printed office building. The introduction of LaserCUSING is another step towards that goal, as Dubai-based Jacky’s Business Solutions announced today that they’re now offering the technology.

Jacky’s Business Solutions provides end-to-end solutions for several major UAE corporations, and 3D printing isn’t new for them, but the Mlab printer line should enable them to significantly grow and expand in their additive manufacturing capabilities, as well as their industry reach. Known for their fast printing speed and strong, quality parts, Mlab printers are popular in the medical, dental, and manufacturing industries, just to name a few.

The original Mlab cusing machine is capable of producing detailed parts from non-reactive materials, while the Mlab R version can also print with reactive materials such as titanium and aluminum. The technology is capable of producing both prototypes and batch parts, including mold inserts with close-contour cooling as well as direct components.

“Leading the way in 3D printing solutions, the company is now offering Mlab cusing from Concept Laser, a world-class 3D printing solution with unmatched laser system,” said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer of Jacky’s Business Solutions. “This next-generation laser melting system is available in the UAE with a vision to facilitate, develop and transform the 3D printing landscape across different sectors.”

Mlab printers can print with an extensive range of materials, including gold, bronze, silver alloys, cobalt-chromium alloys, and stainless steel. With their compact size, the printers are well-suited to labs and production floors with limited space; they also require less ancillary equipment than larger industrial printing systems. Plus, they’re wonderfully energy-efficient, fitting nicely into Dubai’s other goal, which is to become the greenest city on the planet by 2050. You can learn more about the Mlab printers offered by Jacky’s Business Solutions here. Discuss further over in the Mlab 3D Printer forum over at 3DPB.com.
