Priced at a reasonable $599, the UP mini 2 is available through the Tiertime USA website or any of the company’s several authorized retailers. The small printer is an upgrade of the company’s original UP mini, a popular little machine designed as an entry-level printer for students, kids and makers in general. While Tiertime also offers 3D printers geared at professional designers in the UP Plus2 and the UP Box, the UP mini’s broader market appeal made it a fast favorite.
First of all, the UP mini 2’s print quality has improved over the first iteration, with a minimum layer thickness of 0.15 mm, thanks to a new mechanical design. An LCD touchscreen makes the mini 2 even simpler to use, and WiFi connectivity allows for mobile control. It’s now safer, healthier and more eco-friendly thanks to built-in HEPA air filtration, and an aluminum handle ups (no pun intended) the convenience factor, allowing the printer to be easily carried and transported. A separate filament spool holder with a built-in tool box enables you to keep all of your printing supplies contained, organized and easy to access.
“Since the global announcement in Jan. 2016, UP mini 2 has attracted attentions from customers worldwide,” said Tiertime CEO Allen Guo. “The new features and sleek design have become the major features that meet customers’ need. We will continue investing more resources on research and development to provide the best 3D printing experience for everybody in the world.”
“UP mini 2 has the latest features available on the 3D printing market and it has also fine tuned those features to provide the best 3D printing experience,” said Guo. “We have given much thought about intuitive user interfaces to create more consumer friendly 3D printing environment. As a world leading 3D printer manufacturer, Tiertime’s greatest motivation is to meet the increasing demand for consumer 3D printers on the global market. We believe that UP mini 2 will become the best entry level 3D printing gadget for students at schools, kids at home and 3D printing fans everywhere.”
