The news just comes pouring in for Italian based 3D printer manufacturer, Sharebot. Within the past week alone, we have reported on three different new 3D printers that Sharebot has planned to release. Today, at 3D PrintShow in London, the company is on hand to show off, not three, but four new 3D printers, encompassing all three of the major 3D printing technology categories, and best of all, they are all priced at levels that could make any one of them available for at-home use.
Sharebot SnowWhite SLS Printer
On August 27, we reported on their new Sharebot XXL, large volume FDM 3D printer that will be open for pre-orders starting tomorrow (September 5). Then just two days later, we got word of an incredible sub $20,000 selective laser sintering 3D printer that Sharebot calls the “SnowWhite“, which is a “cold working” printer with a print area of 100mm x 100mm x 100mm, which uses only 1 kilowatt of energy to utilize its CO2 laser. Then on this past Tuesday, they announced their 3rd generation consumer/prosumer level 3D printer, the Sharebot Q, which is the successor to the 2nd generation Sharebot NG.
With these new 3D printers, Sharebot has just about every technology within the space covered, with their large scale FDM (fused deposition modeling) printer, their mid sized FDM model, and their incredibly unique and affordable selective laser sintering (SLS) machine. The only thing missing here is a stereolithographic (SLA) 3D printer.
Well, what do you know? Today, Sharebot has informed 3Dprint.com that they are also announcing their new Sharebot Voyager DLP 3D printer. This is the latest announcement in what has been a pretty incredible week for the company.
Sharebot Voyager SLA 3D Printer
The Voyager, utilizes a DLP (direct light processing) projector in order to cure a liquid resin. This process is known as stereolithography (SLA), and is able to create much more precise and attractive objects, when compared to FDM technology.

The Voyager features a printing area of 100mm x 50mm x 100mm (may change before final production), and is capable or printing in resolutions of up to 25 microns, at what the company says will be “high speeds”. An Alpha unit of the Voyager is on display at 3D Printshow in London this week. It will utilize Sharebot’s proprietary software, and include a full color touch panel with an integrated ARM processor. It will also be Wifi enabled. The Voyager will be available sometime in the first quarter of 2015, but no price has been announced as of yet.
Other specifications of the Voyager are as follows:
- Layer Resolution: 25 – 100 microns
- Definition XY: 50 micron
- Projector: Full HD 1920×1080 , 3000 ANSI Lumen
- Resin: Sharebot Resin
- Print Speed: About 170 cm cube / hour
In addition to these new 3D printers, Sharebot is also announcing “Sharebox” which is the first European box to link 3D printers via a Wifi connection. It allows for you to control your 3D printer from the web, and print an STL file with the click of a button. It will also feature alerts and alarms that can be set for various notifications.
Sharebot is obviously trying to become one of the major players within the 3D printing space, if they haven’t already simply with these announcements. It should be interesting to see how well some of these new printers end up working when they are released next year.
