XYZprinting Plans to Implement Memjet’s Printhead Technology into Their 3D Printing Platform

memjetIn an increasingly populated and erratic 3D printing industry, the Taiwanese 3D printing company XYZprinting has done a phenomenal job keeping their affordable and plentiful 3D printing hardware on a momentous upswing. Owned and backed by the New Kinpo Group of Taiwan, which brings in over $30 billion in revenue each year, XYZprinting has taken advantage of this strong foundation and has risen to the top of the 3D printing market. As their market share continues to increase throughout 2016, XYZprinting has also expanded into 3D design and modeling, creating XYZmaker, which they hope will bridge the gap between design and printing for 3D printing novices. They’ve also been preparing for the release of the da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3-in-1, which is their new multipurpose 3D printer equipped with a built-in high resolution 3D scanner and an optional laser engraver and finally available for purchase this week, having launched officially on May 18th.

Now, XYZprinting is collaborating with color printing technology company Memjet, which will be supplying their patented printhead technology to increase the speed and affordability of XYZprinting’s 3D printing platform. Memjet seems to determined to get more involved with 3D printing technology, coming off of the controversial patent infringement lawsuit filed against HP last year. This will actually be the first-ever instance that Memjet’s printheads have been utilized for 3D printing, as they seem to be plotting a transition from 2D-oriented color printing to 3D printing solutions. With these printheads, XYZprinting hopes to create faster and more affordable 3D printing technology, further solidifying their highly-touted position within the 3D printing market.

“XYZprinting has a strong reputation for delivering 3D products that are accessible, high quality, and easy-to-use. Memjet shares a similar reputation for the way our printheads have transformed traditional printing processes,” said Len Lauer, chairman and CEO of Memjet. “Bringing the power of the XYZprinting organization together with Memjet technology creates a disruptive new solution that enables a whole new group of businesses to benefit from the potential of 3D printing.”

These new Memjet-powered 3D printers will lead to much faster print speeds, while also offering a more affordable 3D printing solution for businesses to utilize. XYZprinting plans to introduce Memjet’s printheads into their 3D printing technology in the Asia-Pacific region around early 2017, and will be showcasing their collaborative effort at the printing equipment exhibition drupa 2016, which is taking place from May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany. This collaborative 3D printing solutions will be on display for event attendees at the Memjet stand, which is located at Hall 5, stand C24.

Partnerships such as the one XYZprinting has just struck up with Memjet prove that the Taiwanese 3D printing company is here to stay. Aside from the plans to equip their future 3D printing hardware with Memjet printheads, XYZprinting also plans on launching both the new da Vinci Mini Series 3D printer and a 3D pen sometime this summer.

According to Simon Shen, the CEO of the New Kinpo Group, the deal with Memjet will help XYZprinting continue to build upon their budding momentum within the 3D printing industry. With Memjet’s renowned printhead technology in tow, XYZprinting hopes to create faster, more cost-effective printing solutions that are capable of expanding 3D printing opportunities into new and unsuspecting markets.
